When working on a project basis, tracking the hours worked is an essential part of ensuring the correct invoices are sent. InformerOnline offers a time tracking module to help with this.

Informer provides two options for logging hours:

  • Automatically via a stopwatch;

  • Manually through direct input.

Preparing the system

Before you can log hours manually or automatically, a few basic pieces of data must be in place.

Create a unit

One of the basic requirements is creating a unit. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Settings in the left-hand menu;

  2. Select Units and click New;

  3. Enter a name under Name (e.g., "Hours");

  4. For Type, select Hour Type;

  5. Save to create the unit.

Create a product

Next, you need to create a product. Follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Products in the left-hand menu and click New;

  2. Enter the required product details and select Hours as the unit;

  3. Save to create the product.

Create a project

For both automatic and manual time tracking, at least one active project needs to be set up. Follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Time registration in the left-hand menu;

  2. Select Projects and click New;

  3. Fill in the required information and ensure that the Status is set to Open;

  4. Click Save when all information has been entered.
