In collaboration with the Dutch Tax Authority, InformerOnline has developed an accounting help feature.

What is accounting help?

This accounting help provides you with guidance from the Tax Authority about booking rules, and from InformerOnline on how to record such transactions in the system.

The accounting help operates based on RGS codes (Reference Account Scheme codes), so it’s essential that your chart of accounts is set up with RGS codes. If not, the accounting help will not work.

The accounting help covers various topics such as the use of a personal vehicle for business, work clothing costs, phone expenses, and professional literature.

How does accounting help work?

While entering a purchase invoice, you select a general ledger account.

If the selected account is linked to an RGS code and accounting help is available, an icon of a graduation cap will appear next to it.

By clicking on this icon, a pop-up window will open containing the accounting help.

  • On the left side is information from the Tax Authority, explaining, for example, tax rules for representation expenses.

  • On the right side is information from InformerOnline, explaining how to record the transaction in the system.

With this accounting help, Informer hopes to provide users with extra background information on both the tax rules and the accounting processes in InformerOnline.
