What is an API Connection?
API connections are increasingly being used to exchange information and data. APIs, which stand for Application Programming Interface, make it possible to process data from one system in another. In this article, we explain what an API connection is exactly and how it can be applied.
How does an API connection work?
An API connection allows for the retrieval and transmission of data to and from external systems. This often happens based on a specific protocol, such as SOAP or REST. This technology enables data transfer without the need for user interaction. For example, it can connect with a customer database to automatically send notifications.
Why use an API connection?
An API connection allows for periodic data exchange. Implementing this technology offers several benefits. Companies can automatically exchange the right information with other systems, such as a CRM system. Additionally, data is securely transmitted between different systems, ensuring better protection of customer privacy.
