You may have noticed that the categories have different colors. The color bar of a category immediately indicates the type of category it is.

General ledger accounts types

Color codes

Informer currently uses four colors:

  • Grey

  • Yellow

  • Red

  • Green

Meaning of the colors

  • Grey
A grey bar indicates that it is a Balance - general ledger.

  • Yellow
A yellow bar indicates that it is a Balance - VAT ledger.

  • Red
A red bar indicates that it is an Expense ledger.

  • Green
A green bar indicates that it is an Sales ledger.

These colors make it easy to identify the type of category when entering invoices and bank transactions. This helps prevent mistakes, such as booking a purchase invoice under a balance category instead of an expense category.
